At National Driving Centre we’re proud to be one of the leading providers of HGV & PCV training in the UK. We operate out of South London and have been doing this for a while – 40+ years! So we like to think along the way, we’ve found out a few things in the driver training industry.
We see this blog as a way to offer simple information to anyone looking at getting their lorry or bus licence, or find out general industry news and everything in between! It won’t be formal, and certainly no Ai generated sales fluff, that’s for sure. Just hopefully a quick and easy read each week to help you along in your training journey or life out on the road as a fully-fledged lorry or bus driver.
So, who are we? National Driving Centre, Yes, we’ve already said that we know…

But who are we as people? Well, NDC is a family business. Currently in it’s second generation of leadership – Terry down to Laurence. Laurence being me the writer of these blogs. All members of staff here are pretty much extensions of the family. We don’t sub-contract out to other HGV or PCV training providers and all members of staff are full time employees. We think that’s the secret sauce in a service / training business. “Look after the staff, and they will look after your customers” – Richard Branson.
Our driving instructors first and foremost have real world experience. We found some driving London’s red buses, some that used to teach car lessons, deliver building materials, John Lewis furniture and so on. You identify charismatic, patient people with a real interest in the HGV or PCV industry and then you teach them, qualify them…to teach you!
