National Driving Centre places the highest priority on the safety of its students, instructors, members of the public, vehicles, and property. All training must be conducted in a safe, lawful, and responsible manner at all times.
Students must attend training fit and able to drive. This includes being free from the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or misuse of prescription medication, and not suffering from fatigue, illness, or any condition that may impair driving ability, judgement, or concentration.
If a member of NDC believes your ability to drive safely is affected by any of the above, they reserve the right to stop your training.
National Driving Centre’s instructors and representatives have full authority to assess a student’s driving ability, behaviour, attitude, and overall safety throughout the course. All safety-related decisions made by the instructor or National Driving Centre management are final.
If, in the professional judgement of the instructor or National Driving Centre, a student:
National Driving Centre reserves the right to immediately suspend or remove the student from the training course.
Wherever it is safe to do so National Driving Centre will endeavour to continue training the student and aid their progression up to their allotted course time. In the event a student is removed from training due to unsafe driving, unsafe behaviour, or failure to meet safety standards, no refund, credit, or compensation will be provided, in whole or in part. This includes any unused training time or remaining course days. National Driving Centre will seek to use discretion wherever possible.
Completion of a training course with National Driving Centre does not guarantee that a student will be presented for a DVSA driving test. Students must demonstrate consistent competence, control, knowledge, and safe driving behaviour in line with DVSA test standards and the Highway Code.
The decision to present a student for a DVSA test rests solely with National Driving Centre’s instructor(s), Senior / Chief instructor, and National Driving Centre management. If a student has not progressed sufficiently or is not deemed ready to take the test safely, National Driving Centre reserves the right to:
Before the decision to withhold or postpone a driving test is made, NDC must conduct a progress check / driving assessment with a Senior, or the Chief instructor to ensure the student has a fair chance at demonstrating their driving competence.
If a student is not presented for a DVSA test due to failure to reach the required test standard, no refund, credit, or compensation shall be due for training already provided or associated costs, unless expressly agreed in writing at the discretion of National Driving Centre.
National Driving Centre shall not be liable for any additional costs or losses incurred by the student as a result of removal from training or test withholding, including but not limited to accommodation, travel, test fees, or loss of earnings.
National Driving Centre is located on Ministry of Defence (MOD) premises. We therefore have to comply with entering and exiting protocol. If you are driving then you may be asked at the main car gate where you are going (NDC) and if walking you are expected to use the control panel to ring NDC to gain entry. You must be diligent to security threat and comply to all members of NDC or MOD staff if they direct you.
