Traveling to NDC
By Road
We are located in the Territorial Army barracks on Mitcham Road Next to Kwik-Fit. If you are using a SatNav please use our full company name ‘National Driving Centre’ and our post code: CR0 3RU. Please be aware, If travelling using a satnav, it will take you approximately 200m north of NDC.
By Train
West Croydon station is an 8 min walk from us.
- Walk south-east on London Rd towards Derby Rd 100m.
- Turn right onto Derby Rd 0.2miles.
- Slight right onto Mitcham Rd/A236.
- Destination will be on the left.
East Croydon station is a 15 min walk from us.
- Walk west on Caithness Walk 10m.
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Lansdowne Rd 0.1mile.
- Turn right onto Wellesley Rd/A212 0.2mile.
- Turn left onto Poplar Walk 0.1mile.
- Turn right onto N End 75m.
- Turn left onto Derby Rd 0.2 mile.
- Slight right onto Mitcham Rd/A236
- Destination will be on the left 75m.
By Bus
Bus number 264 stops right outside the Barracks.
By Tram
Reeves Corner tram stop is approximately a 10 minute walk.
Can I park at NDC?
There is plenty of FREE & SECURE parking on site for you to use.

How do I get into the Army Barracks?
Pedestrian or Main gate – Access to the training facility is granted through the main barrack gates. To the left of the gates there is a buzzer on an access panel, for the National Driving Centre please press buzzer button – Number 7 (Labelled NDC). Once we have confirmed who you are we will open the gate, and you can continue through. PLEASE ALLOW THE GATE TO CLOSE BEHIND YOU this is vitally important as the baracks are a secure facility. If there are other members of the public waiting to come in behind you then please do make a team member of NDC aware. Once through the gate continue immediately to the left, NDC are located at the top of the square on the left.
What should I bring with me?
Your driving licence is very important as the course and your test will not go ahead without it.
Suitable clothing for the weather as some instruction is given outside.
Packed lunch if you prefer however there are ample food outlets nearby.
What time does my course start?
All courses start at 8am unless told otherwise and on the date given to you. You should arrive ready to start at least 20 minutes before the time given to you.
Other rules at NDC
Please at all times wherever possible for your safety and the safety of others, stick to the designated walkways as our site is active and there are large vehicles constantly operating.
