Update on Covid-19 at National Driving Centre

Due to Government guidelines and the DVSA’s advice, NDC is unable to run driving courses, practical driving tests or facilitating the booking of theory tests.

This virus will pass and when it does, we will be back better than ever, so if you want to be one of those wishing for a change of career, then start the process now.

Fill out our application form (Click here) and get ahead of the rest!

If you are currently booked on a course with us or would like to register your interest then we hope these Frequently asked questions below will help:

I am booked on a course and want to know what happens now?
We have phoned all future bookings and followed up with an email to explain to all what happens now. As soon as we have more information, you will be the first to know and we can get everyone back on track to getting their chosen licence.
I am a key worker, can I still test?
If you are any of the below:

  • Health and social care
  • Education and childcare
  • Key public services
  • Local and National
  • Government
  • Food and other necessary goods
  • Public safety and
  • National security
  • Transport
  • Utilities, communication and financial services

Then you can apply to the DVSA for an ‘emergency test’. This applies to both Theory and Practical tests.

How do I know if I’m classified as a key worker?
Visit this link to see if you apply https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

I would like to book a course for when this is all over! How do I do that?
We are still here to answer all your questions! Drop us a message on the link attached https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision
If you don’t have your provisional entitlement on your licence yet to drive a larger vehicle ‘as a learner’ then during this period of non testing, unless you are a key worker, it is a great time to get your forms and start the process!

When will things go back to normal?
There are many people asking the exact same question! But the DVSA have suspended all Theory tests until the 20th April. Practical tests are set to be suspended for up to three months. Although if you are a Key Worker then speak to the DVSA about next steps and booking your ‘Emergency tests’. Use the email addresses below if you know you apply >
