All new LGV/PCV drivers (there are a few exceptions) must have the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) before they are allowed to work professionally.
Under the system there are four modules
You have to pass …
Module 1. Multiple choice test 85/100 relating to your category of vehicle. Hazard perception test where you watch film clips and identify developing hazards. 67/100.
You are given a case study to read and then have to answer questions on what you have just read.
The above are taken at the local theory test centre usually all on the same day.
The practical drive
Practical demonstration test with the DVSA examiner. You will be asked a series of questions relating to your vehicle and you must then show/tell/demonstrate the answer. Overall pass mark of 85%
