LGV   (formerly HGV)   Category C1   (formerly Class 2)  -  3.5 ton - 7.5 ton  -  Age 18

LGV C1 course If you are over 18 years and under 21 years of age and wish to drive an LGV (formerly known as HGV or Class 2) vehicle/lorry up to 7.5 tonnes, you will need the C1 category of licence.

The test and course are exactly the same as for the 'C' Category so if you are over 21 years consideration should be given to taking the full 'C' lorry course as it will give you a far better category on your licence when you've passed. You will then have greater opportunities for better employment.
